Today we are joined by Daniel Isenberg, who created the Scale Up Ecosystems methodology and is globally recognized as a pioneer of scale up practices and methodologies, which have been field tested throughout the world. In addition to having been an entrepreneur and venture capitalist in Israel, Daniel has been a professor at Harvard and Columbia Business Schools, Babson College (adjunct), and an associate of the Growth Lab at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Daniel has written Worthless Impossible and Stupid: How Contrarian Entrepreneurs Create and Capture Extraordinary Value and over 35 HBR articles on scaling up and growth entrepreneurship. He holds a Ph.D. degree in social psychology from Harvard University.

Daniel Isenberg was a professor for 11 years at the Harvard Business School, has been an entrepreneur and venture capitalist in Israel, and is an active angel investor. Daniel is also a widely published author, including Worthless Impossible and Stupid: How Contrarian Entrepreneurs Create and Capture Extraordinary Value (Harvard Business Review Press 2013) which has been featured in the Economist, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Business Week etc. Daniel’s blog posts have been viewed by over a million people.

Isenberg is presently Babson Executive Education Professor of Entrepreneurship Practice, founding executive director of the Babson Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Project (BEEP), and Adjunct Professor at Columbia School of Business. Daniel has been a pioneer in the concept and development of entrepreneurship ecosystems, and he currently directs several projects in cities in Colombia, United States, and Denmark. For this work, in 2012 Mikhail Gorbachev awarded Isenberg the Pio Manzu Award for “Innovations in economic development.” Daniel earned the Ph.D. in social psychology from Harvard University. In October 2014 Daniel and Babson will launch the three-day open enrollment program, Driving Economic Growth Through Entrepreneurship Ecosystems at Babson Executive Education.
